Bridge reglue
Removing and re-gluing the bridge of an acoustic guitar after the glue joint has failed and the bridge has begun to lift.
A lifting bridge is a serious fault: it distorts the top, changes the break angle over the saddle and can eventually tear the soundboard when it lets go under tension. The repair involves loosening and removing the bridge cleanly, cleaning off the old glue, checking that the top is flat underneath, and clamping it back with the correct adhesive. Heat, moisture and string tension over decades are the usual causes, and a guitar with a visibly lifting bridge should have its strings slackened before anything else happens.
Example: An acoustic guitar with a gap opening between the back edge of its bridge and the top needs a bridge reglue.
