Titanium

A strong, light, corrosion-proof metal used for premium hardware, saddles and neck reinforcement.

Titanium combines the strength of steel with roughly half the weight and resists corrosion completely, which makes it attractive wherever a guitar part has to be both light and durable. Saddles, tremolo blocks, bridge plates, truss rods and even complete necks have been made from it by boutique builders. It is commonly described as sounding precise and slightly bright, with a clear, fast attack over a tight lower end, and players who fit titanium saddles often report better separation between strings. The obstacle is cost and working: the metal is expensive, hard to machine and difficult to weld, so it stays on premium instruments and aftermarket upgrades.

Example: Titanium saddles on a tremolo-equipped guitar add brightness and definition while taking weight off the bridge.

typical use: Saddles, bridge components, truss rods and premium necks.
