Amp stand
A frame that lifts an amplifier off the floor and tips it back so the speaker points at the player's ears.
Sound from a speaker on the floor goes past your knees and out into the room, so the player hears mostly indirect sound while the audience hears it loud and bright. Tilting the cabinet back fixes that mismatch and reduces how much the room's floor reflections muddy things. Stands also decouple the amp from a resonant wooden stage, which sometimes clears up a boomy low end, and they make the controls readable without bending down.
Example: a small combo used for a quiet jazz trio becomes far easier to balance with the drums once it is angled up towards the band.
