End pin
The peg at the base of an acoustic guitar that anchors a strap or, in drilled form, holds the output jack.
The end pin is the traditional strap anchor at the bottom of an acoustic body, and on most modern instruments the same position carries a combined end pin and jack socket so the guitar can be plugged in. Fitting a strap there rather than at the neck end shifts the balance of the instrument downwards, which many players prefer when seated. An undrilled end pin on a vintage instrument is one of the decisions a player has to weigh carefully before installing a pickup.
Example: A strap attached at the base of the body of an acoustic guitar is held by the end pin.
