Guitar chords

The online edition of the Encyclopedia of Guitar Chords: 44 chord qualities, 528 chord pages, organised by type and by name, each with the fingering chart drawn for that chord.

This page is the front door to the encyclopedia: 44 chord qualities and 528 chord pages, every one of them carrying a fingering chart drawn from the same source as the book. Start with either index below, or open one of the twelve tones.

The two indexes

• 01Chords by type — the book's own order, from the major triads through to the diminished sevenths: each quality on all twelve roots, and the inversions the book names (E/G#, C/G, C#m/E …) linked to the inversion table of the parent page44 qualities × 12 roots
• 02Encyclopedia of chord names — every named chord from A through to the last diminished seventh, alphabetical, with its quality and root528 names, A–Z

The twelve tones

Every quality on one root, in one place: twelve tone pages, each listing major, minor, and every other quality on that pitch class. Major is not the library root.
