What actually changes

Most new pedals are a variation. The ones that matter change one of three things: they model something accurately that previously had to be bought, they put a signal path in software, or they change the interface so that something tedious becomes quick. Everything else is a colour.

• 02Latency and headroom — the numbers that decide whether a digital path is usable live
