Ackordgitarr
Ackordgitarr is the Swedish term for a chord guitar, a steel-strung guitar built for chordal accompaniment rather than melody playing. This entry catalogues an instrument held by the Swedish Museum of Performing Arts (Scenkonstmuseet) in Stockholm, where it is registered as inventory number F450. The museum record does not name the maker, so the builder is unconfirmed here, and no production span is recorded for the type. Such instruments were common in popular and parlour music, where a sturdy, plainly finished guitar with a full, even voice was more useful than a soloist's instrument.
