Charvel Surfcaster
The Charvel Surfcaster is an electric guitar from the early 1990s that took its visual cues from surf music and 1960s design rather than from the flamboyant superstrats Charvel was known for. It has a semi-hollow or chambered body with an offset outline, a distinctive lipstick-style pickup in some versions, and tasteful, retro-looking hardware. The combination of hollow-body warmth and a bright percussive bite suited players looking for a jangly, atmospheric tone with some of the feedback and bloom that comes from a hollow instrument. It was made only briefly and is now collected.
