Fender California Series
The Fender California Series was a group of electric guitars and basses Fender produced in the late 1990s. The instruments combined bodies and necks made in Fender's Mexican plant with final assembly, hardware and pickups fitted in the United States, an arrangement intended to offer near-American quality at a lower price. The series contained several models based on the Stratocaster, Telecaster and Precision and Jazz Basses, and it was sold for only a short period before Fender reorganised its ranges, which makes the guitars relatively uncommon today.
