Fender Jaguar
The Fender Jaguar is an electric guitar introduced in 1962, positioned above the Stratocaster in Fender's range and aimed at professional players. It has a compact offset body with a shorter scale length than a Stratocaster, two single-coil pickups with a metal surround at the bridge and a toothed mute, and an elaborate control plate carrying several slider switches that set the pickups to different tone circuits and engage a separate rhythm setting. It sold moderately at the time but was taken up strongly by surf and, later, alternative rock players, and it has been reissued in many forms.
