Fender Tweed Deluxe
The Fender Tweed Deluxe is a small valve combo amplifier Fender made in the 1950s, one of the most admired amplifiers of the period and much copied since. It has a single twelve-inch speaker, an output of about fifteen watts from a pair of valves, two channels that can be linked together with a short cable so that their volumes combine, and a simple tone control. Driving it hard produces a thick, early break-up with a distinctive midrange, and because that sound can be reached at moderate volume it has long been a favourite for blues and rock recording.
