Gibson Super V CES
The Gibson Super V CES is an electric archtop guitar in the company's large-bodied line, the CES suffix indicating a cutaway instrument built for electrical amplification rather than a purely acoustic one. It has a wide body with a carved top, f-holes, a single cutaway for access to the upper register and two humbucking pickups with the usual separate controls, and it follows the tradition of the company's most substantial jazz guitars. Instruments of this kind are used by jazz players who want a deep, warm and powerful tone from a large archtop body.
