Gretsch Penguin

The Gretsch Penguin is a chambered solid-body electric guitar introduced in the mid 1950s, the most elaborate instrument in the company's Jet family. It has the small, arched-top Jet body, but is finished in white with gold-plated hardware, an ornate bound body and neck, a distinctive pickguard and inlays, and two filter-style pickups with the master volume and tone switch used across the range, together with a vibrato tailpiece. It was originally a showpiece instrument, produced in limited numbers and priced near the top of the Gretsch range, and it remains one of the most decorated shapes in the company's output.
