Hagström Impala

The Hagstrom Impala is an electric guitar from the Swedish manufacturer Hagstrom, made in the 1960s. Hagstrom was founded in Sweden as an accordion maker and moved into guitars, building instruments with distinctive pressed and glued construction and their own pickups and hardware rather than copying American parts. The Impala has an offset, angular body with a set neck, two pickups and a vibrato, and its crisp, slightly thin tone and unusual styling made it a favourite in the beat groups of the period. Hagstrom has reissued the model in later years.
