Ibanez Tube Screamer

The Ibanez Tube Screamer is a compact overdrive pedal introduced at the end of the 1970s and one of the most imitated guitar effects ever made. Its circuit clips the signal in a way that emphasises the midrange while leaving the low and high extremes less affected, so that it adds a creamy, focused drive and pushes a valve amplifier into break-up without swamping its character; in its best known form it has Overdrive, Tone and Level controls. Many versions and reissues have been produced under various names, and it is a standard item on pedalboards across blues, rock and beyond.
