Sky Guitar
The Sky Guitar is the instrument developed for Uli Jon Roth, the German guitarist known for his work with the Scorpions and as a solo artist. It is built to an extended specification designed to reach far above the ordinary range of the guitar, with additional strings and a scale and fretboard arrangement that allows the player to perform material written for the violin, and its design involved the removal or scalloping of parts of the fingerboard and an unusually long upper register. Instruments of this kind are built to order in small numbers, and copies have since been offered commercially in his name.
