Yamaha MDX-E300
The Yamaha MDX-E300 is a MiniDisc deck, a domestic audio recorder that stores sound on a small disc held in a caddy, recording it digitally and allowing tracks to be edited, named and reordered without the wear that tape suffers. Decks of this kind were sold for home recording and playback of compilations, and the format was used by musicians to record rehearsals and demos as well as by listeners, before recordable compact discs and then computer files took over the same role. The unit is part of the company's range of domestic audio equipment of that period.
