Danelectro Commando

The Danelectro Commando is one of the amplifiers Danelectro made in the 1950s, when the firm was supplying complete electric guitar setups through mail-order catalogues. Danelectro amplifiers of that era were small, low-powered valve combos built into plain cabinets, usually paired with the company's Masonite-bodied guitars and sold under brand names such as Silvertone. The Commando is documented in Danelectro's amplifier line-up of the period rather than among its guitars. Such combos are collected today both for their place in early American guitar manufacturing and for their modest, compressed sound.
