My Guitar Notes

Electone

Electone is the brand name Yamaha uses for its electronic organs, and it has been a registered trademark of the company since the late 1950s. The instruments began as home organs with two manuals, a pedal board and built-in rhythms, then developed through the twentieth century into digital instruments that synthesise their sounds electronically and provide automatic accompaniment. Electones were designed for domestic and church use as much as for the stage, and they remain part of Yamaha's range, though now almost entirely in digital form.
