Electro-Harmonix Memory Man
The Electro-Harmonix Memory Man is an analogue delay pedal introduced by the New York company in the 1970s. It uses a bucket-brigade chip to hold and replay the signal, an analogue method that darkens and softens each repeat as it feeds back, giving the warm, slightly degraded echo that made the pedal a studio favourite. The Deluxe version added modulation to the delay line, producing a chorus and vibrato effect as well as the echo, and Electro-Harmonix has continued to sell reissues and updated versions of the design in later decades.
