Electro-Spanish Model B
The Electro-Spanish Model B is an electric guitar made by Rickenbacker in the mid 1930s, and it is one of the earliest instruments built to be played in the conventional Spanish position rather than flat on the lap. Rickenbacker, then called Rickenbacher, built it from moulded Bakelite with a metal body section, the same materials used in its pioneering electric Hawaiian guitars, and fitted it with a magnetic pickup of the company's own design. These instruments are historically important as early examples of the production electric guitar.
