EMG 60
The EMG 60 is an active humbucking guitar pickup made by EMG, the American company known for building pickups with an internal preamplifier powered by a battery. Its ceramic magnet and active circuit give it a bright, articulate voice with a firm low end and excellent clarity on clean and lightly distorted sounds, which is why it is often fitted in the neck position of guitars used for soloing, where it keeps dense chord voicings from turning to mud. It is commonly paired with the hotter EMG 81 in the bridge, a combination heard on countless metal and hard rock records.
