Epiphone Valve Junior

The Epiphone Valve Junior is a small valve guitar amplifier rated at about five watts and designed in a single-ended class A arrangement, driving one output valve. Amplifiers of that kind produce their overdrive at modest volumes, so they can be turned up at home or in a studio without deafening anybody, and they have a simple control set, often nothing more than a volume knob. The Valve Junior was sold as a head or a small combo and became popular in the mid 2000s as a cheap route to real valve break-up.
