ESP KH-2

The ESP KH-2 is the principal signature electric guitar built for Kirk Hammett of Metallica, and one of ESP's most enduring artist models. It is a superstrat with a bolt-on or neck-through construction depending on the version, a pair of active humbucking pickups, a single volume and tone control, a locking vibrato bridge for dive bombs, and distinctive inlays and graphic finishes taken from Hammett's own instruments. The combination of high output pickups and a fast neck suited the lead playing and heavy rhythm work of Metallica's records, and the model has been sold continuously in various forms since the late 1980s.
