Fender Bassman
The Fender Bassman is a series of amplifiers Fender has produced since the 1950s, originally intended for bass guitar and later adopted by guitarists who preferred its tone. The early versions were open-backed combos with four ten-inch speakers, followed by later arrangements with a head and separate cabinet, and the circuit changed repeatedly across the tweed, brown and black panel periods. Its moderate valve power and warm, fat overdrive made it a favourite for blues and rock recording, and it is one of the most imitated amplifier designs ever built, copied by countless other makers.
