Fender Coronado

The Fender Coronado is a hollow-body electric guitar Fender introduced in the mid 1960s, the company's attempt to win players in the jazz and country market that bought archtop instruments. It has a thin, fully hollow body with a double cutaway, a wooden bridge, two single-coil pickups of a DeArmond pattern and a slim, bolt-on neck, and it was offered in several versions including a twelve-string and a bass. It was not a success in its time and was discontinued after a few years, but its light, resonant tone and distinctive styling have since made it a collectible.
