Fender Urge Bass
The Fender Urge Bass is the signature model built for the American bassist Stuart Hamm, known for his work with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. It is based on the Jazz Bass but given a specification to suit his playing: an extended upper range in some versions, active electronics with a wide degree of tone shaping, and a neck and hardware arrangement designed for the tapping and chordal techniques he uses alongside conventional bass lines. The instrument was produced by Fender in limited numbers, and it is one of the company's more specialised artist basses.
