Fender Jazz Bass V
The Fender Jazz Bass V is the five-string version of the Jazz Bass. It adds a lower string to the familiar design, which requires a wider neck and a differently cut nut and bridge, while keeping the slim, offset body, the two single-coil pickups, the volume and tone controls and the tapered neck profile that give the Jazz Bass its characteristic bright, articulate sound with a strong upper midrange. Five-string basses of this kind are used where a low B is needed for modern rock, gospel, country and session work, and Fender has offered the instrument in several specifications.
