Fender Jazzmaster

The Fender Jazzmaster is an electric guitar introduced in 1958 as Fender's top-of-the-range model, intended for jazz players who wanted a more substantial instrument than the Stratocaster. It has an offset body, two wide, flat single-coil pickups, a floating vibrato with a lock, and a separate rhythm circuit operated by a switch on the upper bout that gives a darker, mellower voice. Its bridge and vibrato arrangement suit the long, tremolo-laden chords of surf music, and it was later adopted by indie and alternative rock players, making it one of the most reissued designs in the Fender catalogue.
