Fender Katana

The Fender Katana is an electric guitar Fender manufactured in the 1980s. It belongs to the period when the company was experimenting with modern, angular body shapes and specifications aimed at rock players, and the Katana's design is pointed and unconventional rather than derived from the established Stratocaster or Telecaster outlines, with humbucking pickups and hardware suited to high-gain playing. Fender's output of that era includes several short-lived models of this kind, produced in limited numbers, and guitars such as the Katana are now collected as curiosities of the company's attempts to modernise its range.
