Fender Newporter

The Fender Newporter is a flat-top acoustic guitar Fender made in the 1960s and 1970s. It uses the company's characteristic approach to acoustics, with a bolt-on neck that could be shimmed or replaced easily, a solid or laminated top depending on the version, and a body of moderate size with a curvy outline rather than a conventional dreadnought shape. Fender's acoustic range of the period was built to be dependable and inexpensive rather than to compete with the finest hand-built instruments, and the Newporter is collected now as an example of the company's acoustic production.
