Fender Performer

The Fender Performer is an electric guitar Fender sold in the mid 1980s. Like the Performer Bass of the same period it steps away from the established Stratocaster and Telecaster outlines with a compact, sharply contoured body, a slim neck and humbucking or high-output pickups with active electronics, aimed at rock players of the time. Production lasted only a few years, and the model is one of a group of short-lived designs through which Fender tried to modernise its range in the middle of that decade. It is now collected as an example of that effort.
