Fender Precision Bass Plus
The Fender Precision Bass Plus is a version of the Precision Bass that Fender produced from the late 1980s into the mid 1990s. It takes the familiar body and the split-coil pickup of the standard instrument and adds active electronics with a wider set of tone controls, a set of Fender's own low-noise pickups, a deeper and more comfortable neck joint with a contoured heel plate, and hardware of a more modern specification. Instruments of this kind were aimed at working bassists who wanted the classic shape with greater tonal flexibility and quieter operation.
