Fender Telecaster Custom

The Fender Telecaster Custom is a version of the Telecaster produced in two principal forms. The earlier Custom of the late 1950s was a top-of-the-range instrument with a bound body and a slightly different finish, while the Telecaster Custom introduced in 1972 has a wide-range humbucking pickup in the neck position paired with a standard single coil at the bridge, and the larger pickguard and additional controls that went with it. The 1972 arrangement remained in production for years and is the version most players mean by the name today.
