Gibson ES-100
The Gibson ES-100 is an archtop electric guitar from the company's early electric range, produced in the late 1930s and 1940s. It is a compact, inexpensive instrument with a pressed or carved top, a single pickup and a simple finish, positioned below the more elaborate models of the period, and it was aimed at players who wanted an amplified guitar at a modest price. Guitars of this kind are historically significant as early examples of the electric archtop, and they are collected for their place in the development of the instrument rather than for any elaborate feature.
