Gibson ES-140
The Gibson ES-140 is a compact archtop electric guitar from the 1950s, built to a smaller body size than the company's standard instruments. Its short scale and reduced dimensions made it easier for students and younger players to handle, and some versions were thin-bodied, which reduced feedback and weight while keeping the archtop construction and a single pickup with a simple control layout. Guitars of this kind are collected now as examples of the smaller electric archtops of the period, valued for their warm tone and comfortable playability.
