Gibson ES-175
The Gibson ES-175 is one of the most widely used jazz guitars ever made, introduced in 1949. It has a laminated maple body with a single cutaway, a slightly thinner depth than the earlier archtops and two humbucking pickups in the versions most often seen, together with the usual separate controls. The laminated construction and the shape give a warm, even and feedback-resistant tone that suited the small-group jazz of the period and later styles, and the model remained in production for decades, making it the standard electric archtop for many players.
