Gibson ES-345

The Gibson ES-345 is a semi-hollow electric guitar introduced in 1959, positioned above the ES-335 in the company's range. It uses the same double-cutaway construction with a solid centre block and a pair of humbucking pickups, but adds more elaborate decoration, usually with bound body and neck and graduated block inlays, and a control arrangement that included a rotary tone filter offering several preset voicings. Some versions were wired for stereo operation with separate outputs for the two pickups. It has been reissued in several forms and is much used in blues and jazz-influenced rock.
