Gibson Hummingbird
The Gibson Hummingbird is a square-shouldered flat-top acoustic guitar introduced in 1960 and one of the company's most recognisable instruments. It has a body with a squared-off shoulder shape, a spruce top with mahogany back and sides and, most famously, a large pickguard decorated with a floral design, together with bound body and neck and elaborate inlays on the fretboard and bridge. Its sound is warm and full with a strong bass, which suits singing accompaniment, and it has been used widely in folk, rock and country, and reissued many times by Gibson.
