Gibson Lucille
Lucille is the name the American blues guitarist B.B. King gave to his guitars, after a fire at a dance he was playing where the blaze was apparently started by a fight over a woman of that name. The instruments built to his specification are based on Gibson's thinline semi-hollow design, with two humbucking pickups, a control arrangement including a rotary tone filter that provides several preset voicings, and a tailpiece fitted with fine tuners, together with a large bound body and elaborate decoration. Gibson has produced Lucille as a signature model in several versions, and it is one of the better known artist guitars in the company's range.
