Gibson Marauder

The Gibson Marauder is a solid-body electric guitar produced from the mid 1970s. It has a single-cutaway slab body, a bolt-on neck and a distinctive pickup arrangement: a humbucking pickup at the neck and a different, wide single-coil unit at the bridge, with a rotary control that blends the two to give a range of tones from full and round to bright and thin. The model was offered in several versions with different hardware, and it is remembered as one of Gibson's more unusual designs of the decade, built for a market that was increasingly buying solid-body guitars from other manufacturers.
