Ibanez GIO
The Ibanez GIO is the brand name the company uses for its entry-level guitars and basses. Instruments sold as GIO are built in the Far East to simple specifications with bolt-on necks, basswood or similar bodies and modestly priced pickups and hardware, and they are offered in the body shapes of the company's better known lines so that the appearance of the professional instruments is available to beginners. GIO instruments are sold with accessories and in packages, and they form a large part of Ibanez's output by volume.
