My Guitar Notes

Ibanez Jem Jr

The Ibanez Jem Jr is the least expensive version of the JEM signature guitar designed with Steve Vai, built in the Far East and priced for players who want the appearance of the famous model without its cost. It carries the family features in simplified form: a contoured superstrat body with the monkey grip cut, a scalloped lower cutaway, a vibrato bridge, high-output humbucking pickups and the vine inlay on the fretboard, with cheaper woods and hardware than the Japanese instruments. It is a common first choice for players drawn to the design.
