Ibanez RG Tremolo
Ibanez RG Tremolo refers to the versions of the RG superstrat fitted with a floating vibrato system, generally one of the company's own locking designs or those licensed from other makers. A floating tremolo is mounted so that it can be moved in both directions, allowing the pitch of the strings to be raised as well as lowered, which makes possible the screaming dive bombs and the more extreme effects used by rock players. The arrangement requires clamping the strings at the nut to keep them in tune during heavy use, and it is more complex to set up and maintain than a fixed bridge.
