Music Man StingRay 5
The Music Man StingRay 5 is the five-string version of the company's best known bass guitar. It adds a low string to the familiar design, which requires a wider neck, a differently cut nut and bridge, and a slightly revised pickup and preamp arrangement, while keeping the solid body, the large single humbucking pickup with its active equalisation and the bolt-on maple neck that give the instrument its bright, clear and punchy sound. Five-string basses of this kind are used where a low register is needed for modern rock, gospel and studio work.
