Music Man StingRay

The Music Man StingRay is an electric bass introduced in the middle of the 1970s by Ernie Ball Music Man, the company founded around the work of Leo Fender after he left the company that carried his name. It has a solid body with a large, oval pickguard, a bolt-on maple neck and a single humbucking pickup placed in the middle position, driven through an active preamp with treble and bass controls, which gives a strong, bright and very immediate sound with plenty of output. It became one of the defining basses of funk, rock and pop, and it remains in production.
