Peavey 5150

The Peavey 5150 is a high-gain valve guitar amplifier head developed with Eddie Van Halen and introduced in the early 1990s. It has two channels, one for clean sounds and one with a very high degree of valve distortion, a tone section working across both and a master volume arrangement that allows the overdrive to be produced at any level, together with switchable impedance and an output for recording. Its saturated, aggressive voice became a standard for heavy rock and metal, and it has been used on a great many records; the design continued in production under other model names.
