PRS Custom 24
The PRS Custom 24 is the electric guitar with which Paul Reed Smith established his company in the middle of the 1980s. It has a carved maple top on a mahogany body, a set neck with twenty-four frets, a vibrato bridge of the maker's own design and a pair of humbucking pickups, with the pickups selected originally by a rotary switch and later by a blade switch and a pull or push control for splitting the coils. The combination of a figured top, careful construction and a sound between the traditional American designs made it one of the most successful new guitars of the last forty years, and it remains the company's flagship model.
