The Clavinova CLP series is a group of digital pianos produced by Yamaha within its long-running Clavinova line, distinguished by model numbers beginning with those letters. Instruments in the series reproduce the sound of a piano by generating it electronically rather than by striking strings, and they are built with weighted, hammer-action keyboards that imitate the feel of an acoustic instrument, together with cabinet finishes resembling those of an upright piano, a set of built-in voices and often the ability to record and play back. The CLP models sit in the middle and upper parts of the range, between the compact models and the most elaborate instruments.
