Rickenbacker 4080
The Rickenbacker 4080 is a double-neck instrument combining a bass and a guitar in a single body, made by the American company in the 1970s. The two necks share the company's familiar outline, and the instrument has a separate pickup and control set for each, so the player can move between the low and high registers without changing instruments, which is useful for players who cover both parts on stage. Instruments of this kind are heavy and relatively rare, and they were taken up by a number of prominent players, giving them a lasting place in the company's catalogue.
